The duo have released a video urging their fans to take action during the climate crisis, primarily by abstaining from animal products.

Singer Billie Eilish and actor Woody Harrelson – both vocal vegan advocates – released a video this week that urges their fans to take action during the climate crisis, primarily by abstaining from animal products.

The duo – who both appear on variety show Saturday Night Live this weekend – partnered with environmental group Greenpeace to create the short video, titled “Our House Is On Fire,” which draws inspiration from fellow vegan climate advocate Greta Thunberg.

“Our earth is warming up and our oceans are rising. Extreme weather is wrecking millions of lives,” Eilish says. “From California to the Amazon, our forests are burning,” Harrelson continues. “We are in a climate emergency.” Eilish explains that upwards of one million species are facing extinction due to human activity. “History shows us that when enough people rise up and demand change, those in power have no choice but to act,” Harrelson says. “We must take back power. That means voting for leaders who care about the future of our planet.”

The duo urges viewers to join Thunberg’s Fridays for Future movement. “And [in] doing what we can to live in a greener lifestyle like cutting out meat and dairy in your diet and reducing plastic use,” Eilish adds. “After all, it’s the only home we will ever have,” Harrelson concludes as Eilish’s hit single “Ocean Eyes” plays in the background.
