Grammy Award-winning singer Billie Eilish and her music producer brother, Finneas Baird, are having a concert to support vegan restaurants. The duo will perform live from their home on Verizon’s Pay It Forward Live – a weekly live stream that features big-name performers that support small businesses.

“Pop sensation Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas are performing to support America’s small businesses at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, over at Verizon’s Twitter,” the company said on Instagram. During the live concert, Eilish and her brother will highlight participating Support & Feed vegan restaurants in Los Angeles and New York City. The charitable initiative simultaneously helps plant-based restaurants and groups that have been affected by the coronavirus, including first responders, hospitals, and senior centers.

“Small businesses are a crucial part of our community, and it is so important that we support them during this crisis,” Eilish said in a statement. “I am honoured to be able to call attention to these local businesses, who have made an impact on my life, and are trying to make the world a better place.”

The live stream concert will take place on Earth Day—Wednesday, April 22 at at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT across Verizon’s social media pages.

Supporting Vegan Restaurants

The duo’s mother, actor Maggie Baird, launched Support & Feed last month. Baird created the initiative so that people could support their favorite vegan businesses and workers on the front lines during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Please help,” Baird wrote in an Instagram post. “You can order from any of these incredible plant-based restaurants. The food will be delivered to a needy organisation in a safe, coordinated way when it works for them. With enough time for the restaurant to plan and prepare.” She added, “you can also add it to a personal order if you want food yourself!”

In LA, the list includes Krimsey’s Cajun Kitchen, Crossroads Kitchen, Pura Vita, and more. In NYC, restaurants include By Chloe, Beyond Sushi, and Urban Vegan Kitchen.

There are currently more than 15,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in LA County. More than 660 people have died. In NYC—which has now become the epicenter of the coronavirus in the US – there are more than 139,000 confirmed cases, including more than 10,000 deaths.
