Since being introduced in 2009 the Festive Bake from Greggs is a customer favourite and now it can be bought as a vegan option.
Greggs has delighted fans with the return of its festive bake for 2021 – which has gone vegan this year.
The original Festive Bake, which launched in 2009 and has since gained a cult following, will be joined by the brand-new Vegan Festive Bake following surging public demand for a vegan-friendly take on the Christmas classic.
The classic Festive Bake is filled with delicious pieces of chicken, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon, smothered in a creamy sage & cranberry sauce and encased in delicious crumb topped pastry. Taking inspiration from the original masterpiece, the vegan-friendly version is filled with Quorn™ mycoprotein pieces, sage & onion stuffing and a vegan bacon crumb, finished with a mouth-watering sage & cranberry sauce encased in delicious puff pastry. Both treats are £1.60 and will be available nationwide from 4th November.
It comes two years after Greggs launched the vegan sausage roll, which saw people travel miles and queue for hours to get their hands on the meat free-treat. More recently Greggs have been inundated with tweets from fans questioning the return date of the classic Festive Bake.
In 2019 Twitter user @kawaiikhloee vowed: ‘If we don’t get a vegan festive bake this year I might riot’. More recently Greggs have been inundated with tweets from fans questioning the return date of the classic Festive Bake. @HettieHayward tweeted: ‘Festive Bake season is rapidly approaching’, whilst @Miffer7 posted: ‘It’s almost that time of year again @GreggsOfficial. Give me the festive bake details…’
The new Bake marks yet another scrumptious addition to the on-the-go retailer’s increasingly popular vegan range, following the 2019 debut of the Vegan Sausage Roll, 2020’s hearty Vegan Steak Bake and the Vegan Sausage, Bean and CheeZe Melt that took customers by storm this summer.
To give customers the opportunity to beat the crowds and guarantee their first mouthful this year, Greggs now has its very own Click+Collect service on its website and the Greggs App. Or for those that don’t want to leave the house or office, delivery is also available via Just Eat.
Hannah Squirrell, Customer Director at Greggs, told FEMAIL: ‘The Festive Bake is the latest iconic Greggs Bake to receive a vegan-friendly makeover, and it retains all the classic Christmassy flavours of the original.”There’s nothing better over the festive season than tucking into delicious Christmas food, and we’re confident that customers will love our latest tasty Bakes.”
