The documentary entitled Meat The Future offers some interesting insights about the next agricultural revolution while diving deep into the world of cultivated and cell-based meat.
Get ready! A new vegan documentary, Meat The Future, will release on April 5th, 2022. The film is narrated by Dr. Jane Goodall, world-renowned conservationist, primatologist, and anthropologist. It is executive-produced and will feature music from Moby.
Meat The Future is a documentary about the next agricultural revolution and dives deep into the new world of cultivated and cell-based meat. The film features Dr. Uma Valeti, who says this has been his dream since he was a child. He wants to make a world where meat is produced sustainably and without the need to breed and slaughter millions of animals.
Dr. Valeti is the co-founder and CEO of Upside Foods, the leading start-up for cultivated meat. The documentary follows Valeti and his team over five years as they rise to fame and debut some of the first cell-based meat. Over the five years, they see the production price for lab-grown meat plummet and finally come within consumer reach.
“It’s about the remarkable development of cultivated meat, which can help us save the only home that we have in our fight against climate change,” said Moby.
The film is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Liz Marshall who has filmed multiple impactful documentaries since the 90s. She has helped the world see the inhumanity and environmental impact of animals exploited for food, fashion, entertainment, and research, and Meat the Future is no different.
Lab-grown meat once seemed like science fiction, but that day is now, and this film explores the next agricultural revolution. Cultivated meat is grown from actual animal cells, without the need to abuse and exploit animals like our current practices.
“I’m excited about the documentary because it is solution-focused. The film proposes a way forward, to reduce methane, to reduce water and land use, to lessen the suffering of animals, and to prevent future viral outbreaks. I hope it sparks your imagination and inspires change.” said Dr. Jane Goodall.
Today, animal agriculture uses half of the world’s land surface and produces more greenhouse gasses than all forms of transportation. Forests have been destroyed to create more land for animal farming, leading to more carbon dioxide emissions due to the significantly fewer trees we have.
Yet, it’s still thought that meat consumption will double by 2050. The UN’s 2021 Climate Change Report sounded a “code red for humanity,” and we need to make a change if we want this beautiful planet to thrive.
Cultivated meat is the meat of the future! Research shows that cultivated beef is estimated to reduce land use by more than 95{85424e366b324f7465dc80d56c21055464082cc00b76c51558805a981c8fcd63}, climate change emissions by 74{85424e366b324f7465dc80d56c21055464082cc00b76c51558805a981c8fcd63}-87{85424e366b324f7465dc80d56c21055464082cc00b76c51558805a981c8fcd63}, and nutrient pollution by 94{85424e366b324f7465dc80d56c21055464082cc00b76c51558805a981c8fcd63}.
Reducing your meat intake and eating more plant-based foods is known to help with chronic inflammation, heart health, mental wellbeing, fitness goals, nutritional needs, allergies, gut health, and more! Dairy consumption also has been linked to many health problems, including acne, hormonal imbalance, cancer, prostate cancer and has many side effects.
This film is a wake-up call for people all around the world. It is solution-based and explores our options to save the planet while we still have the chance. The documentary will be available on digital platforms in the US and selected territories in a little less than a month.
