With a planet on the brink, Baby Yoda might just be what humanity needs to see us through our darkest hours.
We are living in dangerous and perilous times. The Climate Crisis is bringing catastrophic changes to our world, wars and riots are happening all over the globe and most of us are deeply fearful about the future of our planet.
Sometimes it just feels like everything is getting worse. Our politics are polarised. Our nations divided. Democracy is flailing in a visceral or an esoteric way, depending on your location. The big picture looks dark.
So it makes perfect sense that Baby Yoda is the evidence that we can all come together over something, even if it isn’t real, and even if it isn’t human? Baby Yoda represents nostalgia and hope. Hope not just for the Star Wars franchise, set a long time ago in a movie studio far, far away, but for the here and the now. For the future itself. For our future.
And it makes perfect sense that Baby Yoda is vegan! Through the force, he has very deep empathy for all living beings, and he has this ability to feel and sense suffering. To needlessly kill animals would go against everything Baby Yoda stands for and practises. Baby Yoda is humanity’s soulmate. Baby Yoda can unite us all. If Baby Yoda can’t save the universe then no one can.
