Ben & Jerry’s is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with a plant-based version of its fan-favourite raspberry ice cream.

Bohemian Rhapsody marks its 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate, Ben & Jerry’s is launching a dairy-free version of its Bohemian Raspberry flavour, blending creamy vanilla oat-based ice cream with rich raspberry swirls and fudgy vegan brownies.

Originally introduced in 2007, Bohemian Raspberry is back, promising a smoother, dairy-free recipe and flavours to send shivers down the spines of music lovers, vegans and ice-cream fans alike. And there’s no escape from sustainability; like the rest of Ben & Jerry’s range, the “rock ‘n’ roll” ice cream flavour is made with Fairtrade Certified ingredients and sold in responsibly sourced packaging.

Additionally, revenue from sales of Bohemian Raspberry will support the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity established in memory of Freddie Mercury to combat AIDS globally.

The ‘magnifico’ ice cream flavour was created in 2007 by Ben & Jerry’s Flavour Gurus following a fan’s suggestion. Now, the flavour has been revamped with a dairy-free twist for 2025 because, as Flavour Guru Joao Piva puts it, “what could be more rock ‘n’ roll than bringing this partnership flavour back to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the world’s most loved songs?”

Ethical ice cream brand

Known for its Fairtrade-certified ingredients and innovative vegan flavours, Ben & Jerry’s offers a wide range of dairy-free options with innovative and indulgent inclusions, toppings and swirls.

An array of flavours like Caramel Cafe, Phish Food, and Salted Caramel Brownie have previously been available with the brand’s original almond milk base, but the range is now being updated to use a new, creamy oat base. Oat-based Ben & Jerry’s vegan-friendly ice creams include Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cookies on Cookie Dough, and the new Bohemian Raspberry flavour.

Along with prioritising sustainable packaging and ethical sourcing, the brand also supports an array of climate justice and human rights movements.

Dairy-Free Bohemian Raspberry is available in the UK from January 2025 with an RRP of £5.75 for a 465ml tub.
